 Paphos Beaches

The main municipal beach is situated by Leoforos Poseidonos close to the Municipal Gardens in the centre of Kato Paphos. There are a few small sandy beaches in front of the large hotels which are ideal for water sports enthusiasts.

There are several good pebble beaches north of Paphos.  Kissonerga Bay is 8km away and still quite unspoilt by tourists.

One of the nicest places to sunbathe is the beach near the Rock of Aphrodite. The water is beautifully clear and blue and just right for swimming.

Travel Tip: visit the beach during the evening when it is quieter and you will have the chance to take in the stunning sunset.

Other beaches to the east of Paphos include Alikes and Pahyammos.

Coral Bay

This is a small but very popular bay whose sandy beach is covered by sun beds throughout the peak season.  Families and couples alike love to spend time relaxing on the beach or swimming in the clear waters. The sea is a beautiful turquoise and holds plenty of attraction for water sports enthusiasts.

Hotels, restaurants and shops line the front helping to give the beach a lively atmosphere. There are cafes on the cliff tops for lunch time snacks. Young Cypriots from Limassol and Larnaca love to visit Coral Bay at weekends during the summer and enjoy the live pop concerts that are sometimes held here.

Coral Bay is 5km north of Paphos. Buses 10 and 15 run regularly from Paphos lower town.
